Martinich takes Meagor title

Dave Martinich rolled a 234 game in the championship match to defeat Todd Edelen, who countered with a 154, in the Bill Meagor 28th Annual Peterson Point Classic Bowling Tournament held recently at Star Lanes and King Pin Lanes.

Martinich averaged 207 for the weekend.

The tournament stepladder finals started with fourth-seeded Laurie Tripp defeating No. 5-seed Jack Hocking 170-168. Martinich then topped Tripp 202-153. Martinich went on to edge Nate Gelling 218-215 in a good, tight match to reach the championship round against Edelen.

The two-day tourney drew 24 bowlers for qualifying rounds at the Star Lanes with the top half of the field advancing to the finals rolled at the King Pin.

Edelen fired a three-game set in the tourney with a 276-772.
