Steve Kloempken wins Ringin' Ten

The Annual Ringin' Ten Bowling Tournament was held recently at Star Lanes in Butte.

One-hundred and eigthty-nine bowlers from Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Washington and Canada competed for over $19,000 in prize money.

Steve Kloempken of Salt Lake City, Utah emerged victorious with a 188 - 150 win over Clay Rees of Harriman, Utah. T.J. Calara of Calgary was third, Chuck Groat of Kerns, Utah took fourth and Jack Guay, also of Calgary was fifth.

In stepladder play Calara defeated Jack Guay 221-180, Calara topped Chuck Groat 193-165, and Clay Ress defeated Calara 203-181 setting up the final match.

Defending champion Nate Gelling finished sixth, narrowly missing the top five, while other local bowlers finished strong. Mark Hodges ended up in 10th, Keith Meagor claimed 15th, Harry Shaffer finished 16th, Ed Robbins of Anaconda took 21st, Todd Edelen ended up at 31st, Jim MacKenzie claimed 46th and Dave Martinich ended up 48th.
